RD40-PV Redrock 40t Self Aligning Welding Rotator Set
The Redrock RD40-PV is a heavy duty, 40 ton self aligning welding rotator set, consisting of a powered drive unit and an un-powered idler unit, engineered to automatically adjust to varying vessel diameters without manual wheel positioning, this system significantly cuts down set up times and optimises circumferential welding efficiency.
The Four-Wheel Weight Distribution unlike conventional 2-wheel rollers, Redrock's self-aligning mechanism spreads the vessel's weight across four wheels per unit. This extra surface area minimises localised pressure, preventing thin-walled stainless steel or soft work-pieces from denting or deforming under their own weight.
The powered unit utilises dual-sided motorised wheels to provide stable, uniform rotation torque. The idler unit allows free-wheeling to prevent damage to the drive motors during loading.
Equipment comes standard with a low-voltage remote-control pendant. It features an integrated potentiometer for smooth, variable rotation adjustments, enabling precise control over weld deposition rates.

- Low-Voltage Remote Pendant: Equipped with a heavy-duty, low-voltage control pendant for safe, hand-held operational positioning.
- Stepless Speed Potentiometer: An integrated high-precision potentiometer allows smooth, infinite adjustment of roller speeds between 125 and 1,250 mm/min.
- Instant Direction Swapping: Includes seamless Forward/Reverse toggle switching with built-in deceleration ramps to protect mechanical gearboxes.
- Dedicated Emergency Stop: Features a physical, high-visibility E-stop button on both the main electrical enclosure and the handheld remote.
- Heavy-Duty Steel Chassis: Fabricated from thick-plate structural steel coated with industrial-grade, chip-resistant paint to survive harsh shipyard and welding shop environments.
- Sealed Gearboxes: Enclosed, lifetime-lubricated drive gears eliminate grit contamination from welding slag and grinding dust.
- Pre-Bored Anchor Holes: Integrated frames feature dedicated lifting lugs for crane transport and pre-drilled base plates for optional permanent workshop floor anchoring.
